Detailed Review of Nordica Enforcer 110
The Enforcer 110 is a decent all-around ski that performs well in conditions from the front side to the back of the resort. It can bust through crud with ease, making it a good option for skiers who like to explore a little bit of everything. Also a strong choice for those who want a ski that won’t blink at less-than-perfect conditions. It skis more straightforward than playful, which is one of the only negative things you can say about it.
Speed Check
For a powder focused and wider ski, the Enforcer 110 has solid stability at higher speeds that hard-charging skiers will enjoy. The 110 width puts the skis on the larger side for what you would expect out of a ski with stand-out frontside characteristics, but that doesn’t seem to hold these back at all. The slightly directional shape helps cater to that end and makes for a fun skiing experience when you want to turn up the throttle.
Speed considerations don’t only stick to groomers and hardpack. When you’ve taken a few warm-up laps, bringing these bad boys into more big-mountain situations is where they really shine. The width and power of the Enforcer 110 comes into play when you want to bomb something steep and remain in control. Wide-open bowls and more technical terrain at high speeds are no problem with these underfoot.
They do get a little chatty at high speeds on hard pack, but that’s to be expected with any powder rocker profile. I would make that trade for their ability to bust through crud anyday. The Enforcer 110 can literally plow its way through chopped up crust and crud, providing you with control and fun, even when conditions aren’t ideal. This makes them fast, aggressive, and ready to ski just about anything.
All-Mountain/Powder Attributes
The Enforcer 110 is built to be a powder-focused all-mountain ski. While this is a nice consideration, it keeps them from excelling at one specific thing on the mountain. They are versatile, but they aren’t quite wide or playful enough for me to consider them for a dedicated powder ski. They make a good option for skiers who are just learning to love powder but spend a lot of time on standard resort runs as well.
That’s not to say they aren’t capable in powder, because they are. They have good float and allow you to stay engaged and enjoy the ride with each turn. They aren’t as surfy or playful as my favorite powder skis, but if you like to ski from top to bottom of a run efficiently and effectively, these skis are a good choice. If you like to play and bounce and get creative, they might not live up to that standard.
The Enforcer 110 is more than capable in a variety of all-mountain conditions, and they easily allow you to navigate from one area of the resort to another. It transitions with ease, and that characteristic makes it highly recommended for anyone who wants to tackle everything that comes their way.
Construction and Style
The Enforcer 110’s construction gives them decent float and feel in powder. It helps with the versatility as well. They feature a powder rocker profile, which means you see heavy rocker in the tip with a little less in the tail. That gives the skis the ability to float over soft snow while still remaining aggressive and engaged. They also have decent camber underfoot when you need to generate power and pop on harder snow.
These skis are also built with True Tip Technology that aims to limit how much ABS plastic is in the tip and instead puts more of the lightweight wood core up front. That eliminates some weight and is intended to make the skis more playful, but I still wouldn’t quite call them a playful ski. The core features lightweight wood surrounded by two sheets of metal to allow for powerful and speedy characteristics that are pronounced and enjoyable.
The skis also come with full-length carbon strips that keep the weight down and add stability. The reinforced carbon layers make the skis plenty strong, and that’s on full display when you’re navigating cruddy snow.
These skis look pretty darn cool from a style perspective. A top-sheet graphic features a steep mountain ridge that looks like a photo at sunset, and the coloring makes it dark and mysterious. This pops out on the mountain and provides inspiration to get out there and get after it.
Price and Value
These skis are priced very similarly to other skis in their category. If you’re looking for a powder focused ski with all-mountain capabilities, they offer solid value. If you like a playful ski or want something that’s fully focused on a certain style, they don’t quite meet the mark. They are well constructed and durable. Those two aspects add to their value, but I wouldn’t recommend them as the only ski in your quiver.
What I Like
I like the aggressive yet laid back nature of the Enforcer 110 quite a bit. They are built to ski just about everything and provide you with a stable platform that will help you explore the entire mountain. They are also well-constructed and durable, two traits that make them a rugged option that can take a beating and keep on ticking. They are fast and aggressive at high speeds no matter if you’re flying down a groomer or bombing a back bowl. That’s something to appreciate.
These skis also excel in softer snow and powder conditions. The 110mm width caters to that skiing style and provides you with plenty of float that you can use to your advantage when things get deeper. They also transition well from powder to other conditions thanks to the directional nature.
The Enforcer also eats crud for breakfast. I love that in a ski. They are able to take on a line of crust, even when you’re cruising at a higher speed, without much worry at all. You won’t need to sit back on your heels or approach with caution. You should always ski with caution, but don’t worry about the slush or crud that’s coming your way. These skis effectively navigate poor conditions, which is terrific.
What I Don’t Like
Even though these skis can be used effectively across a wide range of conditions, they aren’t a ski that I would choose to be on day in and day out. They simply aren’t playful enough for my liking. I prefer an option with more float and flex that allows you to enjoy elements of freestyle and freeride skiing. The Enforcer doesn’t live up to my standards in that regard.
While the skis are built to be a more powder-focused option, I wouldn’t call them a true powder ski. They are capable in the deep stuff, but they aren’t going to be my ski of choice in a huge storm. Again, this comes down to them not being as playful and surfy for my tastes. They don’t ski poorly in deep snow, they just don’t quite stand out as a top-of-the-pack option.
These skis also aren’t great for beginners. They are just too much ski for anyone with basic abilities to handle. They’re on the heavier side, which is partly caused by the 110mm powder-leaning width. However, their aggressive nature also means they’re going to be too fast and strong for beginners. That’s not really a downside, but something to know if you’re just learning or shopping for your first pair of skis.
