2. Higher Love: Skiing the Seven Summits
Kit DesLauriers is without a doubt one of the most legendary figures in the world of skiing. She has won multiple World Freeskiing Championships and was the Adventurer of the Year in 2015, as named by National Geographic.
However, arguably the most impressive thing she has done, and the focus of “Higher Love”, is being the first person to ski down the Seven Summits, which are the highest mountains on each of the continents. This book goes over her journey to not only scale the Seven Summits but to then do the unthinkable and ski down as well.
This book gives you an inside account of the multi-year journey around the world. It goes over her thoughts, insights, trials and tribulations, inspirations and a variety of other information.

One of the most important people in the history of skiing was Dolores LaChapelle. This is not only for her skills as a skier but also for her research and mountaineering skills. She has lived all around the world, scaled to a number of peaks and enjoyed decades of experience in the mountains.
This book is about more than just skiing. While she talks about her love of the sport, the book is also about her love of the mountains and ecology. She dives into her research, her thoughts, and her feelings, all of which are incredible to read. It is a wonderfully deep and moving book from a truly impressive woman.

Ultimate Skiing is a book all about improving your skills and technique on the hills. The book was written by Ron LeMaster, who is a ski technique expert with decades of coaching experience.
He does a great job of connecting all parts of the skiing process together. He focuses on the equipment, the techniques, the physics of movement and even the snow itself. The book includes many diagrams and photos as well, to keep you on track. Whether you are a rookie or a seasoned veteran, this book will have something for you.

5. The Story of Modern Skiing
If you want to learn about the history of skiing, there is no better book to check out than “The Story of Modern Skiing”. You should check out Ski Bum by Colin Clancy. It’s a beautiful fictional depiction of people working at a Colorado resort for minimum wage while skiing everyday. Really excellent skiing scenes.
